CP-CA Helps Tea Party and Conservative Incumbents.
Why it is crucial to focus on Republican, Tea Party and Conservative office holders first and foremost.
- They are the ones that claim to be fiscally responsible, for limited government and for adhering to the Constitution.
- The Democrats have nothing to worry about if progressives on “our side” want many of the same things they do; maybe just a little bit less of it.
- The vast majority of incumbents were reelected. If they won as liberals, they have no incentive to change their ways. However, most Republicans ran as conservatives so we must let them know that we will hold them to it or kick them out next time around. If we let them slide, they will know that they can say one thing, but then do another and still get reelected. We must stop enabling faux conservatism.
- We can spend all of our energy and resources trying to convince or compel progressives to our way of thinking, however, it is a far more efficient use of these resources to keep those who should already be closest to our principles in line.
- Maintaining a consistent core group of conservative elected officials is the only way to grow that caucus
- If we can’t keep so-called conservatives in line, then what hope do we have with those that are openly opposed to our principles?
